Medical & clinical interventions

A clinical intervention is any intervention that is required to be undertaken by a medically trained practitioner such as a doctor or nurse. It can involve either, a medical diagnosis and/or the prescribing or administering of medication, as well as more detailed medical examinations.

Any substance whether drugs or alcohol, has some risks attached to using them. Some will be physical and others may be psychological or mental. In some cases a medical intervention or treatment may be required to help deal with them.

These treatments will only be given after a full assessment has been carried out and in consultation with the doctor's who support the service.
